Q: In the past membership to WVS was month-to-month and people could join anytime. Why the change?
A: West Vliet St moved to simplified annual memberships in 2023 to allow membership coordinators to focus more time on offering benefits to members vs administrative challenges with tracking membership changes and collecting dues each month.
What payment options are you using to collect dues?
West Vliet St is now using Square to collect payments for one-time annual or midyear dues. You can pay for them online here. If desired, you may also send a check made out to West Vliet Street Inc. for an annual membership. Please mail checks to the WVS Treasurer at:

If annual membership starts in January, what happens if I want to join in April?
Annual membership is $150 per year. This goes toward funding events on the street and promotions which all businesses benefit from throughout the year. If you are a new business on the street opening on or after July 1st, you can benefit from a prorated amount of $75 for the remainder of the year.
Can I still pay for my membership on a month-to-month basis?
We are currently only offering an annual and bi-annual options as we no longer have the volunteer support to manage monthly payments.
Who are the West Vliet St members?
Members range from local business owners to neighborhood groups that maintain businesses along West Vliet St and the surrounding neighborhoods including Washington Heights, Martin Drive, Uptown Crossing, and more.
I am a retailer and I’m interested in getting more involved in one or more of the annual events. Where can I start?
We’d love that! Each event has a committee leader and team to help manage and we are always happy to have more volunteers to ensure its success! Please email the West Vliet St board at WestVlietStreet@gmail.com and the Events chair will follow-up with more information.
